Abelia grandiflora (Glossy Abelia)
Glossy abelia is a versatile, semi-evergreen shrub that makes a graceful addition to any sunny garden. It is drought tolerant once established. Birds use it for shelter, bees and butterflies are attracted to the blooms.
Abelia can be used as a specimen or planted in groupings for shrub borders or effective erosion control on slopes. Although tolerant of hard shearing, abelia looks best when pruned selectively. It loses its graceful growing habit when sheared.
