Salvia nemorosa (Meadow Sage 'April Night')
$ 11.98
Also known as Meadow Sage.
Salvia 'April Night' makes a brilliant perennial border plant, with deep purple blooms that are quite striking. As it is the case with most salvias, it needs soil rich in organic matter and good drainage. Its foliage is rough-textured and aromatic, but its tidy overall appearance makes it welcome in any garden.
'April Night' is compact, flowering up to a month earlier than other varieties with long-lasting, upright, flower spikes in vivid, violet-blue. Remove faded blooms to encourage repeat flowering. Excellent for cutting. Somewhat drought tolerant, once established with excellent mildew resistance. Also tolerates heat and humidity. Plants may be easily divided in early spring or fall.
