Blue Flax is a lovely short-lived perennial that reseeds readily. Its flowers sport a sky blue color, and en masse it creates a quite a spectacular visual feast. It has a very light, airy appearance to it.
Blue Flax belongs in meadow or prairie gardens, as well as any naturalized setting. It should be planted in full sun and prefers well-draining soils. It prefers sandy soils, and in North Texas does best west of IH-35.
