Clasping coneflower is a cheerful annual wildflower that is somewhat similar to Mexican Hat. It grows best in moist soils, but is adaptable and tolerates heat, drought, and various soil types, as long as they are well-draining. It prefers full sun but will adapt to part sun or light shade.

Clasping coneflower can form colonies under favorable conditions. It perpetuates itself by re-seeding, so despite being an annual, it will remain in the garden if allowed to go to seed.

Clasping coneflower is perfect for micro-prairies, perennial gardens, wildflower meadows, and naturalized areas.
