Chocolate Daisy is native to rocky hills, grasslands, and open spaces. The petal-like ray flowers are yellow on top and grayish-green below. The brown disc flowers in the center have a pleasant chocolate scent. The white, cottony fluff of the mature seed heads is quite attractive.
Chocolate Daisy is a compact and neat plant. It is drought and heat tolerant. It does best in well-draining, rocky or sandy soils. In soil that is too rich or too moist it tends to flop. Best cut back after each bloom cycle to encourage re-blooming.
